Dyche dismisses job fears as Forest fight the drop
"Nottingham Forest boss Sean Dyche has dismissed talk about his job and insisted one game will not define his future. Forest host Wolves on Wednesday but know if West Ham beat Manchester United on Tuesday their three-point advantage over the 18th-placed Hammers will disappear. Dyche was nominated for Premier League manager of the month for January and Forest were unbeaten in four top-flight games before Friday's 3-1 defeat at Elland Road."
"The owner is well aware, and I made it clear to him, that this was never going to be smooth sailing all the way through. We have seen some hiccups; some good days and not so good days. We came off after the Palace game [a 1-1 draw] and got a really important point. It was a good point following a 10 v 11 situation [after Neco Williams' red card] and he [Marinakis] was congratulating me."
Nottingham Forest sit three points above 18th place but could lose that cushion if West Ham beat Manchester United. Forest host Wolves next, with recent form including a four-game unbeaten run ended by a 3-1 defeat at Elland Road. Sean Dyche was nominated for Premier League manager of the month for January. Owner Evangelos Marinakis has already dismissed two managers this season. Dyche said the ownership have maintained contact and that he warned the owner the job would not be smooth. He described mixed results as hiccups, praised a point from a 10 v 11 Palace match and rejected suggestions the Leeds loss puts his job in jeopardy.
