Does winning Community Shield lead to good season?
Briefly

The Community Shield is often viewed as a precursor to Premier League success, but historically, it shows a weak relationship. In the Premier League era, only eight out of 33 winners have claimed the title. In fact, losing teams have often fared better in the league. Since 1992, 45% of league champions didn't participate in the Community Shield. However, recent trends show that FA Cup winners are more likely to succeed in the Shield, winning seven of the last eleven matches.
In the Premier League era, only eight of the 33 winners of the Charity or Community Shield have gone on to win the title. Five of those occurred during a six-year span from 2005 until 2010.
Since 1992, teams who lose the Community Shield have won more league titles that season, totaling 10, including Manchester City three years in a row between 2021 and 2023.
45% of the time, the upcoming season's Premier League winners had not been involved in the Community Shield, indicating a weak correlation between Shield success and league performance.
The FA Cup winners have achieved victory in seven of the last 11 Shields, reflecting a significant trend compared to the five wins out of the previous 22.
