Disallowing King goal was 'misjudgement' - Webb
Briefly

Fulham had an 18-year-old Josh King goal disallowed after a lengthy VAR review that judged Rodrigo Muniz to have stepped on Trevoh Chalobah in the build-up. Fulham manager Marco Silva called the decision "unbelievable." Chelsea won 2-0 with a Joao Pedro header and an Enzo Fernandez penalty that followed another contentious VAR decision. PGMOL chief refereeing officer Howard Webb admitted the disallowance was wrong, saying officials should only remove goals when the evidence is very clear and that established guidance and a high threshold for VAR intervention were not followed. Michael Salisbury was stood down as VAR for a subsequent match.
"It wasn't controversial, it was wrong. We've established some principles in terms of how we officiate in the Premier League and how we use VAR," Webb added. "They sit around a high threshold for penalising contact, aiding the flow, rhythm and tempo of the game. We've also established a high bar for intervention with VAR."
"In this situation, that guidance wasn't followed properly. There was a misjudgement by the officials involved in this situation about how that contact happened between Muniz and Chalobah."
"The officials got super focused on that contact, without looking at the full context of how it happened."
