"Derry City are strongly exploring the possibility of a move to bring James McClean back to the club in the New Year if his situation at Wrexham does not change."
"McClean has been starved of game-time at Wrexham after their promotion to the Championship, even though he signed a contract extension at the beginning of the season which commits him to the Hollywood-owned Welsh club until the summer of 2027."
Derry City are strongly exploring the possibility of a January move to bring James McClean back if his situation at Wrexham remains unchanged. McClean has been starved of game-time at Wrexham following their promotion to the Championship. He signed a contract extension at the start of the season that commits him to Wrexham until the summer of 2027. Wrexham is Hollywood-owned and currently appears to offer limited playing opportunities to McClean. Derry City's interest is conditional on McClean continuing to lack game time. Any move would be considered in the New Year.
