D.C. United survives a thriller against Inter Miami
Briefly

D.C. United pulled off a surprising home victory over Inter Miami at Audi Field despite entering the match with nine losses in 11 games and the league's weakest attack. Inter Miami rotated heavily after a midweek Leagues Cup win and were without Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba, leaving many traveling fans disappointed. A visible majority of visiting shirts filled the stands as journalists had been warned against wearing rival apparel. The win provided rare optimism for D.C. under a new manager and halted a concerning run of form, while Miami rested key veterans including Rodrigo de Paul, Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets.
