Dayot Upamecano signed a new four-year contract with Bayern Munich that runs through June 2030, ending speculation about reported interest from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. The 27-year-old had only a few months remaining on his previous deal before the extension. Bayern acquired Upamecano from RB Leipzig in 2021 for a release fee of around €43 million; he had joined Leipzig from Salzburg in 2017. Bayern officials described him as an anchoring central figure who has matured into a top international player. Uli Hoeness warned that advisors might attempt to lure him away. Upamecano has played 180 games for Bayern and made 35 appearances for France.
