Inter Miami is monitoring Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba ahead of the Leagues Cup semifinal versus Orlando City after both missed recent match action. Messi missed the Aug. 20 quarterfinal with a minor right-leg muscle injury and sat out the MLS match at D.C. United after previously playing 45 minutes and recording a goal and an assist against LA Galaxy on Aug. 16. Alba exited a prior match with a knee knock. Both players completed training Monday and Tuesday, and the club will assess how they feel through the day before making roster decisions. Sergio Busquets could reach 100 appearances since joining in summer 2023 and remains an integral midfield presence.
Jordi and Leo trained with us, they completed training. We'll see how they feel as the day progresses, and tomorrow we'll make a decision on what the final decision is for the match. But luckily they trained and were able to complete training, which is a positive thing,
Leo trained, completed training, which is super positive. We hope he's in the squad, and tomorrow we'll make a decision on how he's feeling. These types of injuries have to be seen, it's a process that takes place throughout the day and how he gets up the next day. So, I imagine, he's not an addition yet because we haven't sent out the roster, but I imagine he'll be in the squad at least.
