Moises Caicedo opened the scoring with a first-half strike from the edge of the box. Liverpool improved after the interval and equalised through Cody Gakpo. Chelsea grew dominant in the final 10 minutes and Marc Cucurella supplied the cross for the late winner. Giorgi Mamardashvili started for Liverpool in place of the injured Alisson. The result hands Chelsea three points and leaves Liverpool on a third straight defeat.
