Buendia pens Villa deal & joins Leverkusen on loan

Emi Buendia, the 28-year-old midfielder, has extended his contract with Aston Villa before being loaned to Bayer Leverkusen until season's end. With a history of 97 appearances and 10 goals for Villa since joining from Norwich in 2021 for a club-record fee, Buendia's valuable contributions include his international debut with Argentina. After suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury that sidelined him for the entire 2023-24 season, he made a notable return as a substitute against Everton.
