Brentford striker Igor Thiago signs new deal to 2031
"The connection that he has with his teammates, the staff and the fans, as well as how much the club means to him and he means to us, is pretty evident for everybody to see. I love working with him and I've loved seeing his evolution as a player. How he plays is such a big part of how we play and what our season has been so far."
"When the fans support me, and I see them singing my name and singing my song, it gives me more power. I'm really happy for all of the love they have given to me. It means so much. In the beginning, when I first came, I had the injury. The staff and the people around the training ground were helping me and supporting me,"
Igor Thiago has committed his future to Brentford with a long-term contract running until at least summer 2031, plus a club option for an additional year. The 24-year-old arrived from Club Brugge in 2024 and has emerged as Brentford's primary goalscorer this season with 17 Premier League goals, behind only Erling Haaland. Thiago set the record for most goals by a Brazilian in a single Premier League season and recorded his first top-flight hat-trick against Everton. He missed much of 2024–25 with injuries but has played almost every league match this year, helping Brentford sit seventh and contend for European qualification.
