Liam Rosenior has been named head coach of Chelsea on a contract running to 2032. He succeeds Enzo Maresca, who was sacked on New Year’s Day, with Calum McFarlane having overseen a 1-1 draw with Manchester City that leaves Chelsea fifth in the Premier League. Rosenior joins from RC Strasbourg, where he secured European qualification for the first time in 19 years in his first season, and he previously held coaching roles at Hull City and Derby County. Strasbourg and Chelsea share ownership under BlueCo, which eased the move. Rosenior said he is humbled and committed to restoring the club’s winning identity.
