Romario, 58, registered himself as a player for America Football Club in Rio de Janeiro, where he is also the club president.
Romario plans to play for America FC in the second division of the Carioca Championship to fulfill his dream of playing alongside his son, Romarinho, a recent signing.
Although Romario stated he won't compete in the championship, he aims to play a few games with his son and make another dream a reality.
Romario last played an official match in November 2009 for America FC and serves as the club president, having been elected as a senator for Rio de Janeiro in 2014.
