Brazil asks FIFA to host 2029 Club World Cup - sources
"It's a subject I discussed with president Infantino. I see it in a positive light, especially because Brazilian soccer is showing its potential in this World Cup. I believe that this conversation will continue for a while, but God willing, Brazil will host the 2029 Club World Cup,"
"[Infantino's reaction after Brazil offered to host was] positive,"
"Infantino is someone who really likes Brazilian soccer. He smiled and was happy that the CBF had made Brazil available to host the championship"
Brazil asked FIFA to host the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup during a meeting with FIFA president Gianni Infantino in Rio de Janeiro. Infantino visited to officially launch the journey to the 2027 Women's World Cup, which will be staged across eight Brazilian cities. Meetings included Brazilian Football Confederation officials, vice presidents Samir Xaud and Gustavo Dias Henrique, and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The CBF has worked behind the scenes for months to bring the Club World Cup to Brazil. FIFA unanimously appointed the United States to host the expanded 32-team 2025 tournament without a bidding process. FIFA has not yet announced how formal bidding for 2029 will work.
