AFC Bournemouth have signed 20-year-old Hungary defensive midfielder Alex Toth from Ferencvaros for £10.4m on a five-and-a-half-year contract. The deal includes up to £2.6m in add-ons for Ferencvaros and a 10% sell-on clause. Benfica, Galatasaray and Lazio were also understood to have been interested. Toth has nine senior caps for Hungary. He has played all his club football in Hungary, spent the 2023–24 season on loan at Soroksar, made his Ferencvaros debut in December 2024 and has 52 appearances and four goals for the league champions. He is Bournemouth's third January signing.
