Birmingham boss Davies relieved with Swansea draw amid away struggles - Soccer News
"I thought if anyone was going to win it, as the game went on it was going to be us but coming away from home it always has to be seen as a good point in the Championship, because there's no easy games. We are a team that has been struggling a little bit away from home, so to go and get a point and show that real grit and togetherness again, and resilience, is something to build on."
"Second half, we were much better than the first half. We still had some decent moments around their goal in the first half, but we go down again. We didn't look after the ball well enough in those early stages, they had more possession. But second half, we pushed higher up, we were more aggressive in the press, and we forced them into errors."
Birmingham came from behind to draw 1-1 at Swansea after Zan Vipotnik opened the scoring and Patrick Roberts equalised in the 72nd minute. Swansea accumulated 1.06 of their 1.6 expected goals in the first half, but Birmingham grew stronger as the match progressed and looked the better side late on. Roberts took six shots, a joint-season-high for a Birmingham player, and had an effort blocked before Lewis Koumas missed a late chance. Birmingham have managed only nine away points this season, and the team showed grit, togetherness and improved pressing in the second half.
