Kasper Hjulmand has been appointed head coach of Bayer Leverkusen on a contract running until 2027, replacing Erik Ten Hag, who was sacked two league games into the season. Hjulmand's previous roles include head coach of Denmark's national team and a 2014-15 Bundesliga season with Mainz 05 where he succeeded Thomas Tuchel.
