93rd-minute equaliser saves Arsenal's blushes in PL title bid - Wrap
""Very disappointed not to win," said Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said. "I think we played better than last year when we beat them (5-1).""
"Haaland started the move deep inside his own half with a lay-off to Tijjani Reijnders and then sprinted upfield to receive the Dutch international's pass before coolly slotting beyond David Raya."
"Noni Madueke's powerful near post strike was repelled by Donnarumma in what was Arsenal's best attempt in a flat first-half performance."
Gabriel Martinelli scored a 93rd-minute equaliser to salvage a 1-1 draw for Arsenal against Manchester City after Erling Haaland opened the scoring on nine minutes. Haaland initiated the move from deep, combined with Tijjani Reijnders and finished beyond David Raya. Arsenal had not conceded from open play in their first five league and Champions League games but were breached by Haaland's form. Gianluigi Donnarumma made key saves, including repelling Noni Madueke's near-post effort. Mikel Arteta introduced Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze in the second half, while Guardiola reinforced his defence by substituting attackers. Aston Villa drew 1-1 with 10-man Sunderland and remain winless.
