[VIDEO] Chris Tomer Mountain Weather Update 12/9: Strong Atmospheric River Flow With More Rain Than Snow - SnowBrains
""Rain on snow event with a strong atmospheric river flow into PNW/BC/ID/MT/WY. Rain/snow lines get pushed to higher elevations with more rain than snow. It's a long wait for UT/CA/AZ/NM/Southern CO." - Chris Tomer Forecast Rain/Snow Line Elevations: Crystal Mountain, WA: Up to 8,000'+ Revelstoke, BC: Up to 4500'/1,350m Whitefish, MT: Up to 8500′ Jackson Hole, MT: Up to 9,000′ Brundage, ID: Up to 9,000′"
"Best odds of snow: Colorado: PM 12/9-AM 12/10(L) Tahoe: Late 12/14-12/15(L) UT: 12/16(L) Idaho: 12/9-AM 12/10(M/H) Wyoming: PM 12/9-AM 12/10(M), 12/16(L) Montana: 12/9(L/M), 12/10(L/M), PM 12/11-12/12(M/H), AM 12/13(L) Interior British Columbia: 12/9(L), 12/10(H), 12/11-12/14(L/M)"
A strong atmospheric river will produce a rain-on-snow event across the Pacific Northwest, British Columbia, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. Rain/snow lines will rise to higher elevations, increasing the proportion of rain versus snow at lower and mid elevations and concentrating snowfall at higher terrain. Forecast rain/snow line elevations include up to 8,000'+ at Crystal Mountain (WA), around 4,500' at Revelstoke (BC), and up to 9,000' at Jackson Hole and Brundage. Snow probability windows are specified for Colorado, Tahoe, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and interior British Columbia through mid-December.
