Members of the U.S. women’s speed ski team, including Mikaela Shiffrin, Breezy Johnson, Allison Mollin, and Keely Cashman, completed early-season training at Mammoth Mountain, California in the last days of April. The team used strong conditions at the resort, taking advantage of April snowfall totals that made speed training possible on home terrain. Mammoth Mountain recorded 48 inches of snowfall at the main lodge and 74 inches at the summit during April. The speed group typically trains at Copper Mountain, Colorado, but the favorable conditions at Mammoth allowed training under California sun. Mammoth Mountain lifts are scheduled to keep running through Memorial Day Weekend.
