A 36-year-old snowboarder from Ashland, New Hampshire, was seriously injured after hitting a tree while navigating a steep, rocky area out of bounds at Cannon Mountain. He was with friends when they chose to ski in an unpatrolled zone. Unable to move due to his injuries, the group called Ski Patrol for assistance. Two ski patrollers responded, and Fish and Game was notified. Ropes were needed to safely transport the injured man back to the base, and he was later taken to a hospital in a private vehicle.
