"We're looking at a storm heading our way later this week, and we want to make our season kick-off the best it can be,"
"To take full advantage of this new snow, we've made the call to move our official Opening Day to Saturday, November 15. This gives Mother Nature and our ops team the time they need to get the mountain dialed in for some amazing first turns."
"We can't wait to celebrate the start of the 2025-26 season with you on Saturday,"
Mammoth Mountain delayed its 2025-26 Opening Day from Friday, November 14 to Saturday, November 15 to take advantage of a forecast snowstorm. The extra day gives the mountain operations team more time to prepare optimal early-season conditions and to integrate several inches of natural snow into snowmaking efforts. The incoming natural snow could allow a broader terrain opening at launch. A detailed operational plan listing which lifts and runs will open will be released closer to kickoff. The resort will host opening-day amenities like complimentary coffee and cocoa and early-arrival giveaways. Mammoth often runs long seasons that can stretch into July, and it joins other mid-November U.S. openings as colder mountain temperatures return.
