CoreWeave has secured two 15-year lease agreements in Ellendale, North Dakota, with a projected capacity of 250 megawatts. This datacenter, built by Applied Digital, is tailored for AI and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads. CoreWeave will occupy over 60% of the capacity, initially utilizing approximately 100 megawatts this year, sufficient for 48,000 Nvidia GPUs. The facility aims to meet growing AI needs with a potential expansion to 400 MW and an option for a third data hall by 2027, signaling a strategic move in the competitive AI landscape.
The announcement positions Applied Digital as a key player in infrastructure for AI and high-performance computing, bolstered by 15-year leases with CoreWeave.
With plans for 400 MW of capacity and an option for an additional 150 MW, CoreWeave might dominate the Ellendale campus, meeting AI demand.
