Two Local Musicians Just Opened a Sprawling Restaurant and Music Venue in Yucca Valley
Briefly

Mojave Gold, a new venue in Yucca Valley, opened on May 31, providing a restaurant, bar, and concert space to serve the Morongo Basin community. Co-founders Cooper Gillespie and Greg Gordon, in partnership with former Workshop Kitchen + Bar chef Beren Ekine-Huett, created a sustainable dining experience highlighting local sourcing and a zero-waste kitchen. The expansive venue can host 500 guests and includes a formal dining area and a lounge. The menu features diverse options, moving toward brunch offerings by August, aiming to create a welcoming atmosphere for local residents.
When we were thinking of opening this place, we asked, 'What does our area need?' Usually, when we want to go out for a nicer meal, we have to go to Palm Springs or the Kitchen In The Desert. We felt like our area needed something new, but a place where the community can feel welcome.
Her philosophy of the kitchen is inspired. We wanted twists on classics and to be the place where you come every week.
