Trump invests millions in sushi chain Kura Revolving Sushi Bar
Trump invested between $220 million and $750 million in stocks of major corporations including Nvidia, Amazon, and Apple during the first three months of 2026. A notable food-related investment was Kura Sushi USA Inc., operator of the Kura Revolving Sushi Bar chain with nine Northern California locations. A financial disclosure dated May 8 reported Trump invested between $1 million and $5 million in Kura Sushi USA Inc., with 2,345 total purchase actions across the disclosures. Kura Sushi USA Inc. was among 36 entities receiving the highest investment amounts. Trump has also been reported to have said he would not eat raw fish during a Japan visit in 1990, while later enjoying a hamburger in 2017. He also invested in Chipotle, Domino’s Pizza, Starbucks, Cheesecake Factory, and Dave & Buster’s.
"Recent financial disclosures published Thursday revealed that Trump bought between $220 million and $750 million in stocks in giant corporations that included Nvidia, Amazon and Apple within the first three months of 2026, Reuters reported. One more surprising investment on the list, though, is Kura Sushi USA Inc., which operates the Kura Revolving Sushi Bar restaurant chain. Kura Revolving Sushi Bar has nine Northern California locations, including restaurants in San Francisco's Stonestown Galleria, Cupertino and Berkeley."
"According to the financial disclosure, dated May 8, Trump invested between $1 million and $5 million in Kura Sushi USA Inc. The financial report also revealed that Kura Sushi USA Inc. was one of just 36 entities to receive the highest amounts of investment from the president - between $1 million and $5 million - joining the ranks of tech companies like Adobe and Microsoft. The disclosure included 2,345 purchase actions in total."
"Ironically, Trump has shared his hatred for raw fish, most notably in Harry Hurt III's 1993 book, "Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J. Trump," in which the author alleged that Trump said he wouldn't "eat any f-king raw fish" during a visit to Japan in 1990, Yahoo reports. When Trump visited Japan again in 2017, he and then-Prime Minister Shinzo Abe reportedly enjoyed a hamburger made with U.S.-imported beef."
"Kura Sushi USA Inc. wasn't the only food company in which Trump invested. He also invested thousands in Chipotle, Domino's Pizza, Starbucks, Cheesecake Factory and Dave & Buster's."
