They referenced past struggles during the 2018 trade war with China, which resulted in significant financial losses, particularly affecting specialty crops. With new threats of tariffs from Trump against major markets, farmers fear repeating previous hardships without adequate government support.
While we recognize the intent behind some of these trade actions, we remained concerned that broad-based tariffs will disrupt agricultural markets both in the short term and long term.
