Using underwater mapping techniques, scientists have mapped the Cascadia Subduction Zone in never before seen detail, revealing four segments that could lead to more pressure and severe earthquakes.

The Cascadia Subduction Zone has the potential to unleash a nine-plus magnitude quake, lasting approximately five minutes, generating tsunamis up to 100 feet tall, damaging over half a million buildings, and potentially causing numerous casualties.
