A severe solar storm is expected to hit Earth, making the aurora borealis visible across parts of the UK. The Met Office confirmed a coronal mass ejection is headed our way.
The aurora borealis appears as large areas of colour, including pale green, pink, and shades of red, yellow, blue, and violet, best viewed in darkness away from light pollution.
