Inside the White House meeting on its AI Genesis Mission
"Everyone's focused on a common goal of: How do we truly execute against what the Genesis Mission is calling for? What does that look like? How is public-private partnership going to be a big piece of that?"
"I would really highlight ... the focus on partnership, not just with the government, but with each other,"
"There are quite a few competitors in the room of each other on paper and what their real business lines are. But that's not why we were there today. Why we were there"
Twenty-four private sector companies signed on to partner with the Department of Energy and national laboratories to advance the Genesis Mission by creating the American Science and Security Platform to harness AI for scientific advancement. Major technology firms including AMD, Anthropic, xAI, AWS, OpenAI, Oracle, Dell, IBM and Microsoft joined alongside smaller specialist companies focused on materials science, chemistry and engineering. The initiative will concentrate on Energy's top 20 scientific challenges, such as biotechnology, critical minerals supply, nuclear fusion and fission, and longevity, emphasizing public-private collaboration and integration of emerging technologies like quantum computing.
