IBM has unveiled the latest milestone in quantum computing - a quantum computer with more than 1,000 qubits.
Physicists have grown excited about an alternative error-correction scheme called quantum low-density parity check (qLDPC) that promises to cut the number of physical qubits needed by a factor of 10 or more.
