'Hidden Empire' discover after unearthing ancient Roman settlements

These newly discovered settlements could all be connected based on trade and communication routes in the region, marking a significant moment in deciphering a 'hidden empire'.
We used geo radar technology to locate wall structures from ancient residences that weren’t visible from the surface, allowing us to uncover new aspects of the Roman settlements.
The research team from the University of Cádiz discovered that the villa had walls separating residential and work areas, providing insight into Roman domestic life.
By employing multispectral cameras, we were able to investigate other sites for the first time since their discoveries in the 1980s, uncovering a wealth of previously unseen data.
