Musk believes that the upcoming Starship Flight 5 will significantly test new capabilities, particularly attempting to catch the Super Heavy booster with the launch tower's catch arms.
He stated, 'We would like to catch the booster in the mechazilla arms, which sounds kind of insane due to the booster's size, but it's got a decent chance of working.'
Musk emphasized that the test timeline is contingent on the FAA approval, which could come as early as the end of August, allowing for a flight in late August or early September.
The primary objective for the upcoming test also includes assessing the heat shield of the Starship, following improvements made after its fourth test flight.
