Blue Origin has now successfully completed a wet dress rehearsal of its New Glenn rocket, marking a significant milestone as it prepares for its first flight.
Jarrett Jones, New Glenn SVP, described the completion of the wet dress rehearsal as a 'monumental milestone,' noting it was the first time they operated the vehicle as an integrated system.
The FAA has granted Blue Origin a launch license for New Glenn, indicating the vehicle's readiness for its inaugural flight, which will carry a payload simulator.
Initially set for October, the inaugural flight was postponed as the rocket was not ready, but New Glenn is now expected to launch as early as January 6, 2025.
