Coach Ryan Warsofsky stated that Marc-Edouard Vlasic is getting closer to returning, likely during the Sharks' upcoming road trip, contingent on his need for more practice.
Vlasic, who turned 37, missed training camp due to a severe upper back injury. He participated in two practices recently and is on the road to recovery.
Having played 1,296 games for the Sharks, Vlasic is close to achieving a significant milestone in his NHL career, needing only four more games to reach 1,300.
The Sharks face roster decisions concerning Vlasic's return; if there are no injuries, they may send defenseman Jack Thompson to the AHL.
