Sharks trade for Timothy Liljegren
Briefly

The San Jose Sharks have acquired defenseman Timothy Liljegren from the Toronto Maple Leafs, sending Matt Benning and two draft picks in return.
Liljegren averaged 19:40 of ice time in 55 games last season with the Maple Leafs, scoring 23 points and earning a reputation for solid defensive play.
By trading Benning for Liljegren, the Sharks are not only aiming for a more even ice time distribution but also an offensive upgrade on their defense.
The Sharks have also traded a 2026 sixth-round pick and a conditional 2025 third-round pick to Toronto, highlighting the investment in securing Liljegren.
