The San Jose Sharks have secured Cameron Lund, a promising forward and second-round pick from the 2022 NHL Draft, by signing him to an entry-level contract. Lund, 21, showcased his abilities at Northeastern, scoring 40 points, including 18 goals in his junior year, which earned him a third-team all-Hockey East selection. His performance in the Hockey East tournament further highlighted his talent, contributing two goals and three assists. Lund is the third member of the Sharks' 2022 draft class to sign a professional deal, joining two other draftees on the Barracuda roster.
"Cam is a very talented player who brings speed, size, and skill to our group," Sharks general manager Mike Grier said in a statement. "We're excited to have him join the organization and look forward to watching him develop."
In three seasons at Northeastern, Lund had 36 goals and 93 points in 107 games.
Lund, who turns 21 in June, starred at Northeastern for three seasons and had 40 points in 37 games as a junior this past year.
At the recently completed Hockey East tournament, Lund, listed at 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, had two goals and three assists in three games.
