Macklin Celebrini, the top pick in the 2024 NHL draft, is sidelined for at least two more weeks due to a lower-body injury, impacting the Sharks' lineup.
General manager Mike Grier highlighted Celebrini's previous performance, noting his remarkable debut with a goal and an assist against the St. Louis Blues.
Celebrini's debut goal was historical, ranking second-fastest for a No. 1 pick, surpassed only by Mario Lemieux's first goal over three decades ago.
Prior to joining the Sharks, Celebrini was awarded the 2023-24 Hobey Baker Award while playing for Boston University, amassing 64 points in 38 games.
