General manager Mike Grier announced Wednesday that San Jose has hired Ryane Clowe as an assistant general manager. Clowe was seen sitting with members of the Sharks' front office during the first day of development camp on Tuesday.
Clowe, 41, spent the majority of his decade-long NHL career with the Sharks, playing 423 games, scoring 101 goals, and dishing out 170 assists. His 271 points are the 14th-most in franchise history.
Aside from his regular-season contributions, Clowe excelled in the postseason, with 18 goals and 27 assists in 68 career playoff games. He holds the franchise record for playoff penalty minutes with 97.
Clowe joins the Sharks' front office after previous stints in advisory and coaching roles with the New York Rangers, Newfoundland Growlers, and the New Jersey Devils post his playing career retirement in 2015.
