The San Jose Sharks have acquired Zack Ostapchuk from the Ottawa Senators, hoping his skillset will enhance the team in the long term. Noah Gregor, who was part of the trade, expressed his eagerness to help the team during its rebuild. Now back with the Sharks after a challenging period, Gregor must prove his worth over the next five weeks. With a crowded roster, he aims to secure his future as a restricted free agent this summer after a series of trials with different teams.
After waiting a few days for his work visa situation to be resolved, Gregor played his first game with the Sharks in just over two years.
This is a team that wants to go in the right direction, obviously, being in a rebuild here, Gregor, 26, said Thursday.
Gregor has about five weeks to show that he fits in with the Sharks' long-term outlook, with 10 forwards on the active roster signed for next season.
Some great pieces coming up, so you should want to be a part of that, and I definitely do.
