Cody Ceci discussed the unsettling nature of trade rumors, stating, "It's always a little unsettling. You see all the rumors pop up on your phone… but [you] try and ignore it as best as possible."
Ceci, now with the Sharks, added depth to a defense that was a major concern for San Jose ahead of the 2024-25 season, helping to alleviate some worries.
Reflecting on his career, Ceci stated, 'I began with the Ottawa Senators and logged extensive minutes in seven out of my 11 NHL seasons, which I hope to bring to San Jose.'
The Sharks' move to acquire Ceci alongside a 2025 third-round pick from Edmonton was seen as a necessary step to bolster their roster's defensive line.
