Macklin Celebrini, a rookie for the San Jose Sharks, spent a meaningful day engaging with 5-year-old Luke Schumann, a young cancer survivor. After battling Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Luke celebrated his recovery with a special experience at the Sharks' practice facility, where he showcased his skills and received encouragement from Celebrini. Luke, diagnosed shortly before his fifth birthday, underwent surgery and chemotherapy; he has since been declared cancer-free. His family expressed gratitude for the care from Children's Minnesota and the joy brought to Luke by the Make-A-Wish foundation.
The day started with Macklin Celebrini passing the puck to a young fan, Luke Schumann, a cancer survivor, and ended with joyful celebrations on the ice.
Luke, who was diagnosed with a rare form of Hodgkin's Lymphoma at five, completed chemotherapy and was declared cancer-free, bringing immense relief to his family.
After receiving a challenging cancer diagnosis, Luke’s family praised the care from Children’s Minnesota and felt blessed that he is now cancer-free.
The Make-A-Wish foundation provided Luke with an unforgettable hockey experience, as he has been a dedicated Sharks fan since his early childhood.
