REPORT: Sharks Centerman Expecting To Be Traded
Briefly

Nico Sturm, a key player for the San Jose Sharks, realizes he might be traded due to the team's poor performance and his lack of a contract extension. Leading the Sharks in face-off win percentage, his playing time has decreased with the emergence of younger talent. In 40 games this season, he has recorded five goals and assists each, while hoping for clarity from the front office regarding his future. Despite the uncertainty, Sturm remains committed to his professional responsibility.
Realistically, as long as nothing's done, I might probably expect to get moved. If there's no contract extension, that's just the reality of life in the NHL.
Probably now we're about halfway done throughout the year, and I'm certain [the front office] has some sort of better picture now of where we're at as a group.
I'm certainly expecting to hear what's going on with my future. I think I also deserve that at the point that I am in my career.
Either way, regardless of how it goes, I'm going to do my job. I'm going to be nothing but a professional about it.
