Sharks' forward Nikolai Kovalenko will miss the game against Utah due to an upper-body injury. He logged three hits in 11:43 against Vegas and has been inconsistent, contributing six points in 12 games since his trade from Colorado.
Coach Ryan Warsofsky indicated that Fabian Zetterlund will be a game-time decision against Utah, as he dealt with a lower-body injury but still traveled with the team. Zetterlund ranks fourth on the Sharks with 27 points this season.
Winger Carl Grundstrom is also in consideration to play against Utah after nursing an upper-body injury. Warsofsky noted that discussions with the training staff will help determine Grundstrom’s availability for Friday.
Defenseman Jake Walman, unable to play since December due to a lower-body injury, has been seen skating with the team recently. There is optimism about his availability for Saturday's game against the Minnesota Wild.
