Defenseman Nikolai Knyzhov, who was once the Sharks' top rookie, joins the Penguins on a tryout after struggling with injuries for two seasons.
Knyzhov, drafted by the Sharks four years ago, had a breakout year in 2020-2021 before injuries sidelined him for almost two seasons.
After his contract with the Sharks was terminated, Knyzhov is now competing for a defenseman position with the Pittsburgh Penguins as a free agent.
