Former San Jose Sharks coach David Quinn reunites with longtime friend Mike Sullivan and defenseman Erik Karlsson as he joins Pittsburgh Penguins' coaching staff.
Erik Karlsson had a remarkable season under Quinn's coaching, winning the Norris Trophy in 2022-23 after recording over 100 points, the first defenseman to do so in over three decades.
Quinn's hiring in Pittsburgh comes after missing the playoffs with the Sharks, with Karlsson traded to the Penguins, leading to Sharks acquiring forwards and a draft pick, freeing up cap space.
