Both Clayton Keller and Will Smith, despite not being big players, have showcased tremendous skills with the puck and made significant impacts in their first seasons at the NCAA Division I level.
"He's been an elite player at every level he's been in," said Sharks coach David Quinn about Clayton Keller, highlighting Keller's tenacity, competitiveness, world-class motor, brain, and skill set.
Clayton Keller has performed consistently well, currently ranking 34th in the league in scoring since the start of 2021-2022 season, despite being slowed down by a leg injury.
"[Keller] is just a hockey player and has been a hockey player his whole life," mentioned Quinn, emphasizing Keller's dedication and passion for the sport.
