Celebrini, at just 18 years and 119 days, became the youngest Sharks player to score two points in his NHL debut, surpassing the record held by Marco Sturm.
Despite the Sharks building a 4-1 lead thanks to Celebrini and other players, the team struggled in the first period, being outshot 22-9 and facing puck management issues.
The Sharks have historically struggled with their season starts, previously managing a 0-5-0 record two years ago and an even worse 0-10-1 start last season.
