The San Jose Sharks signed veteran forward Jeff Skinner to a one-year, $3 million contract. Skinner, 33, recorded 29 points in 72 games with the Edmonton Oilers last season. He made the Stanley Cup playoffs for the first time in his career after the Oilers' defeat in the final against the Florida Panthers. Over his 15-year NHL career, Skinner has accumulated 699 points in 1,078 games with teams including Carolina, Buffalo, and Edmonton. The Sharks have also signed several other players since July 1.
