Dead & Company launched their second annual residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, replicating their iconic musical journey that resonates with the legacy of the Grateful Dead. Set against a backdrop of the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, the performance featured stunning visuals and graphics, transporting the audience through a cosmic journey over San Francisco and beyond. With familiar elements from previous shows, the fresh graphics and massive LED screens enhanced the immersive experience, establishing a signature style for the group at this venue.
They were rocketed off into sky, peering down at all of San Francisco, then the whole Bay Area and, eventually, leaving earth's orbit entirely and settling off into space.
The segment now appears to be Dead & Co.'s signature for the Sphere and I'd expect it to keep showing up as long as the band keeps playing the Sphere.
The much of the rest of the graphic effects, shown in sparkling clarity and mammoth size on a 16-K wraparound LED screens... felt very fresh.
This marked the Grateful Dead offshoot's second annual residency at the much-buzzed-about Las Vegas venue.
