Padres Hire Jake Peavy As Special Assistant

Jake Peavy, a former star pitcher for the San Diego Padres, has rejoined the organization as a special assistant to CEO Erik Greupner. Peavy, who spent over half of his 15-year MLB career in San Diego, expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity, stating that the team holds a special place in his heart. Peavy had a remarkable run as an ace for the Padres, winning the ERA title in 2004 and taking home the Cy Young Award in 2007. He was inducted into the Padres' Hall of Fame in 2023.

Peavy's big career stretched for another seven years. He played for the White Sox, Red Sox and Giants through the 2016 campaign.
