Former World Series MVP Pablo Sandoval signed a contract with the Staten Island FerryHawks in the independent Atlantic League. This move follows his release from a minor league deal with the San Francisco Giants.
Sandoval, known as Kung Fu Panda, has a career batting average of .278 with 153 homers and 639 RBIs in 1,380 games. He was a two-time All-Star and contributed to the Giants' three World Series wins.
